Renrick attended public school in Toronto and completed high school
at Birchmount Park Collegiate in Scarborough where he was a member
of the football and track team. Immediately after graduating, Renrick
went on to Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology where he
earned a Diploma in Civil Engineering. He enrolled at Ryerson University
where he completed the Degree program in Urban Planning. He is
currently employed by the City of Toronto as a Senior Planner. In this
capacity, he specializes in land development and building communities.
Renrick has dedicated himself to giving back to his community. For more than two decades,
Renrick has volunteered in the non-profit sector and to local community organizations including
the position of President of Central Neighbourhood House in Toronto. In these positions,
Renrick was required to think analytically and be able to identify problems and implement
practical solutions. One of his strengths is the ability to bring people together who come from
different backgrounds and have varying interests. Another key strength is the ability to turn
plans into actions.
Renrick’s community involvement, past and present, includes.
Member, Town of Ajax Committee of Adjustment

Renrick has lived in Ward 2 with his family for over 13 years. During that time, he had the
opportunity to work with the Town of Ajax as a Development Planner, where, he demonstrated the
ability to work with council, residents, the business community and developers to get things
done. As a Development Planner with the Town of Ajax from 1999 to 2003, Renrick took a lead
role on a number of important projects including:
Town of Ajax, "Notion Road Land Use and Urban Design Study"
Smart Growth Initiatives in Ajax
"Herizon House" Development
"Group Homes" Development
Instructed and participated in Diversity Training to Town of Ajax staff
Town of Ajax Official Plan review team
Numerous Residential Subdivisions
Renrick’s hobbies include baseball, soccer and riding his motorcycle.
Most recently, he has developed an interest in golf which is a work in
progress. Renrick has played, coached and managed the City of
Toronto Soccer team for the Planning Department since 2006. Each
year more than 12 teams from various departments in the City of
Toronto enter for a fun-filled, city wide soccer league. Sadly, the
Planning Department has yet to win the championship. Renrick also
played house league baseball for several years in Ajax. He
participated in many charity tournaments including events sponsored
by the Fan 590 in Richmond Hill.
His greatest passion of late is his motorcycle which he is also using to
raise money to establish a scholarship for students attending J.
Clarke Richardson and Notre Dame High School, who plan to pursue
post-secondary studies at UOIT and Durham College.
Renrick was elected as Councillor Ward 2 in the Municipal by election in March 2008. Ward 2 is
the most culturally diverse ward in Ajax and is bordered by Kingston Road to the south, Westney
Road to the West, Lakeridge Road to the east and the 5th Concession to the north. It is his
vision to see a council that reflects the changing face of the community, and he hopes to inspire
young people to take a more active role in their future.
I have hosted and will continue hosting community open houses to allow for direct dialogue.
